Greeting from the National Director

Dear Fellow Rangers:

Evil has struck our nation again. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the Sandy Hook tragedy in Newtown, CT. But one of God’s names, Emmanuel, reminds us that he is with us in every circumstance.

God sent his Son, Jesus, to be a personal savior, not a political savior. He wants to journey with boys and young men as close friends. As Ranger leaders it is our privilege to mentor boys in that personal relationship with God, teaching them to walk and talk with him and to experience his strength, wisdom and power daily. Do not underestimate the difference this makes in the young men they are and become.

As we close out one year and start a new, I’m recommitting myself to the call of mentoring future men in the power of God’s love and his Spirit. Will you join me? The Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah, suggested the human heart is evil and no human can understand it fully or fix it completely, but God in us and with us does and can!

Ranger leader, you are engaged in a life-giving cause, forging strong Christian young men:

  • You are God’s model and his mouthpiece to the next generation of men.
  • You guide them authentically with the same attitude of the Apostle Paul: Follow me as I follow Christ.

As our nation debates how to prevent repeats of such tragedies in the future, let’s keep doing what we have done for 50 years and works – evangelizing, equipping, and empowering the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders.

Thank you, fellow Rangers, for your life investment! Let’s keep making a real difference this year, next year, and every year until Jesus returns.

God is with us,

Doug Marsh
